Emin Taha
Emin Taha was born on January 4, 1965, in the town of Altunkopru, located in Kirkuk, Iraq. Of Turkmen origin, Taha entered the world of trade in Kirkuk by establishing his first business at the age of just 15. After graduating from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Baghdad Technical University in 1988, Taha came to Türkiye in 1994 due to the internal conflicts in Iraq, having to leave his family behind in Iraq. Taha, who married in Türkiye, is the father of three children. He speaks Arabic, English, Kurdish, and Sorani.
Having gained significant experience in trade and life in Iraq, a challenging geography shaped by years of war, Emin Taha succeeded in making his name known in the business world and across Türkiye through Taha Kargo, which he founded in Istanbul in 1998, thanks to the experience he built over the years.
Emin Taha, who also has a highly successful and strong personality in terms of his social side, holds memberships in many non-governmental organizations and actively serves in managerial roles in some of these institutions. He has also taken part in many social responsibility projects.
Roles and Memberships Undertaken
Emin Taha served as the Chairman of the Türkiye-Iraq Business Council under DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board), affiliated with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Economy, for three terms between 2015 and 2021, and previously served as a member of the Executive Board of the Türkiye-Saudi Arabia Business Council.
In addition to these roles, he has served as the MÜSİAD Middle East Coordinator, Chairman of the MÜSİAD Logistics Sector Board, Founding Representative of MÜSİAD Erbil (February 2014), and Member of the High Advisory Board of UND (International Transporters Association).
Furthermore, through his memberships in İTO, TİM, İTKİB, İMMİB, GAİB, OAİB, AKİB, DAİB, TET, BATİAD, OTİAD, LASİAD, and MESİAD, he also dedicates time to various social and community activities.
