New Era Between Turkey and Iraq: 24-Hour E-Visa Convenience for Businesspeople
An important step has been taken to strengthen commercial and diplomatic relations between Iraq and Turkey. With the official announcement made by the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara, the Electronic Visa, also known as the E-Visa system, has officially been launched for Turkey.
This new system aims to eliminate time loss, especially for exporters, investors and the business world, by moving bureaucratic procedures to the digital environment.
Started in Ankara, Istanbul Will Follow Next Week
The details of the system were shared at a ceremony attended by Iraq’s Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Abdulreda Hassan Al-Lachmawi, and Director General of Civil Status, Passports and Residence, Nashat Alkhafaji. Thanks to the infrastructure developed through the joint work of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior, the procedures started in Ankara as of this week. According to the statement, electronic visa procedures will officially begin in Istanbul next week.
Apart from Iraq, only 20 countries in the world have this advanced infrastructure, and Turkey is among the priority countries due to its strong trade volume.
Results Within 24 Hours for Investors
The most remarkable feature of the system is speed. Iraqi Ministry of Interior Spokesperson Abbas Al-Bahadli emphasized that the main target of the new application is investors and businesspeople.
The advantages offered by the new E-Visa system are as follows:
Speed:
Applications are expected to be finalized within 24 hours.
Convenience:
Application processes are carried out completely electronically.
Flexibility:
The new visa type also includes features such as extension options to prevent disruptions in business processes.
Digital Transformation Crosses Borders
The Iraqi government has expanded its digitalization move in civil registration and passport procedures, including e-passport and e-ID systems, beyond the country with this new system. This step aims to accelerate trade traffic between the two countries and create strong momentum for logistics and investment activities.
As Taha Group, we closely follow every development that facilitates trade, investment and logistics between Turkey and Iraq. Faster visa processes for businesspeople are expected to support commercial visits, negotiations, project operations and cross-border logistics activities.
Summary:
Iraq has announced its new electronic visa system for Turkey. With the application starting in Ankara and Istanbul, visa procedures for businesspeople and investors are expected to be reduced to 24 hours.
